LYNX Get the Wallet

Our story

Thirteen years on-chain. Still writing history.

Most crypto projects disappear in a year or two. Lynx has run without a break since 2013, and every block from its first day is still on the chain. Here's how a meme coin grew into a platform for permanent data.

2013

It starts as Kittehcoin

Kittehcoin (MEOW) launches in the wave of coins that followed Dogecoin. The community is real, but a flaw in the code lets attackers mint coins out of thin air.

2017

Reborn as Lynx

New leadership rebuilds the project from the ground up on a Litecoin-based codebase while keeping every original transaction. The goal changes from speculation to solving real problems.

2019

The chain learns to store data

Lynx adds storage, and research groups, businesses and NFT projects start keeping their files on-chain.

2021

Clevver is born

NFT art is disappearing when hosting bills go unpaid. Clevver launches as a simple drag-and-drop way to store files on Lynx permanently.

2024

Bitcoin Core and Proof of Stake

Lynx moves to the Bitcoin Core v25 codebase and swaps mining for Proof of Stake, cutting power use by 95%. Storage moves fully on-chain and capacity grows fivefold.

2025

Private, and much bigger

Encrypted storage goes live, and the multi-chain design opens the door to effectively unlimited capacity.

2026

A constellation of chains

More than 400 chains are running side by side. The blockchain recycling program gives abandoned coins new life, Spark makes running a node a one-line job, and the new Qt desktop wallet arrives.

What we believe

Solve real problems. Build things that last.

Utility over hype

Lynx doesn't compete with Bitcoin as money. Its job is to keep data safe, permanently.

Kind to the planet

We gave up our own mining algorithm when we found a greener way. Anything built to last centuries has to be sustainable.

Open by default

The code is public, the chain is public, and anyone can check our work or run a node.

The story is still being written. On-chain.
